"I want to have that best job! ...because everyone says it's good..."
Many people have the misconception that they have to search and join the best company and that high flyer job in their respective sector in order to be successful. What is success? What is it that you consider as success? Why it is that often a time, a person will detour during the path to success?
"Everyone says that job is the best for me although it's not what I’m really looking for..."
It is what you're looking for in yourself, your job and your life that matters. Knowing what you really want is important. It is you who leads your life and not others. That job might be seen by others as the best one for you but what matters most is that you must see the job as the best one for you too. Being suitable for a job will affect the rate of adapting to your new working environment which will indirectly affect your work performance.
“It is what you're looking for in yourself, your job and your life that matters.
Question yourself:
- Is this really what you wanted?
- Everyone says that job is the best one for you but do you see it as the best one for you too?
- What is it that you hope to get from your job? Job satisfaction? Being recognized for your effort? Money?
“…No, it’s not just about the money although it qualifies to be one of the major pushing factors…”
“It’s definitely all about money! That’s the purpose why we are all working so hard with, isn’t it?”
Regardless of your answers to the questions above, bear in mind that money can indeed buy you all the happiest essentials and luxury items that you wanted but it will never be able to buy you true happiness. You might have heard this for a millionth time but somewhere in your heart, you know this wise old sentence is true.
